There is a small town called port de sóller and as the name already reveals Port de Sóller is only the harbor of the town Sóller. The town is a 10-15 min drive away and also very beautiful. When you are a child of the ocean you will love sitting by the harbor and watch the boots as well as swim in the sea. If you are ever on Mallorca and want to stay at a very calm and relaxing town – this is the place to be.
A true gem is San Marroig. You can’t see the manor from the street so you actually have to know where you are going. This place is magical and has so much to offer – a museum, a monopteron, a secret garden and much more to see. The entrance fee is 4 euros but it is totally worth it.
Water has something magical. You should take some time and spend it at the reservoir where you can walk around very freely. There are also some really cute cows, calves and also donkeys. Cúber is the largest artificial water reservoir in Mallorca and is mainly there for the drinking water supply.
4. Banys Araber
Palma de Mallorca has the most to offer when it comes to architecture and history on Mallorca. Walk around the whole city and enjoy the Spanish way of construction. When entering the Banys Arabs (Arabic Baths) you will be surprised. There is a beautiful garden before you enter the ruins of the former baths. The entrance fee is 2.50 euro. It is great for a break.
An orange and lemon orchard that will make you happy. It is definitely one of the places you would go and visit again even though nothing would have changed. You will learn a lot about oranges and lemon. Also the people who are running this place are the cutest and they will try their best so you can enjoy your stay to the fullest.
If you go up country you will find one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. The rewarded little town is traditional with its red roofs and stone buildings. The town has beautiful stores to buy great majorcan clothes, oil and more. Since the village is on hills you have to walk up little stairs to get around.
It may seem like something very controversial since Mallorca is know for being a party island. Well, it is not. It has beautiful landscapes and great paths. No matter if you want to walk small tours or very long ones – there is something for everyone and the views from up top are just breathtaking.
8. Tren de Sòller
The wooded trains are worth a ride. The tram is one of the oldest in the world and so a great attraction. It goes from Port de Sóller to Sóller and the train goes from Sóller to Palma de Mallorca. The ride is a little bit pricey but really nice on a summer day. Not just history but also fun.
A great vacation is not complete without going to local markets. No matter if it is a market with fresh fruit, vegetable and / or clothes. In Mallorca raffia baskets are everywhere and you can find really great ones. If you have the chance try local and seasonal food. It is delicious. Usually in every town is a market. In Sóller is a rather big and also a fish and meat market.
Sunsets are not only romantic but also very calming. A really great spot in Sóller to watch the sun go down is up high near the lighthouse.
