Banana bread: So simple is the healthier recipe with whole grains

In line with lockdown, we’re all baking again. In March, the banana bread has already been celebrated as a secret favorite in the ovens. The bread is truly an Instagram sensation, as the preparation is so simple that anyone can master the recipe. However, we think it needs a healthier version of the popular bread. That’s why we’d like to introduce you to this whole-grain banana bread recipe, which is not only healthier, but also juicy.

Easy to make: Whole-grain banana bread recipe

Recipe makes about 10 slices
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 30 – 40 minutes

Required ingredients

  • butter for greasing
  • 200g whole-grain flour
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 fresh banana
  • 2 eggs
  • 80g olive oil
  • 20g linseed oil
  • 50g oat-almond milk
  • if needed: 3 tsp. coconut blossom sugar
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • 100g whole-grain oat flakes
  • 1 sachet baking powder
  • some cinnamon
  • 80g walnuts

Time needed: 50 minutes

Just 4 simple steps to this delicious banana bread

  1. Preheat oven and prepare loaf cake pan

    Preheat the oven to 180°C. Then grease a loaf pan with butter and sprinkle with flour. This reduces the bread to stick to the pan and eases the release from the pan.

  2. Mix ingredients

    Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl and blend with a mixer until you have a uniform, smooth mixture.

  3. Pour dough into loaf cake pan

    Pour the dough into the greased mold. Then you can put a halved banana on top of the dough as decoration. Put the loaf pan in the oven for 15 minutes. Then place baking paper on the pan so that the banana bread does not burn on top. Leave the whole-grain banana bread in the oven for another 15-25 minutes.

  4. Cut & enjoy

    Slice your banana bread and enjoy.

The bread is baked when no more dough sticks to the toothpick and it is golden brown on the outside.
